Great February Events and Upcoming Podcasts
I thoroughly enjoyed my readings in Quesnel, Wells, Fraser Lake and Vanderhoof. We had some great discussions and it was so good to meet with more readers from all walks of life. I am now working on my upcoming podcasts. The first episode will air at 6pm BC time on Monday March 4th. They will then be published weekly for 7 to 8 weeks. During the podcasts, I will be talking about my book, Mini Saga in South Africa, and doing short readings. They will be available on Spotify and hopefully on many other sites, to be determined. I recently received 100 more books to keep up with sales. My previous two books are now sold out but are still available at Books and Company and on Amazon. Hope many of you will tune into my Podcasts!
Book Signing at Books and Company
Tuesday February 13th from 2pm-3.30pm at the Prince George location, Hilary Crowley will be signing copies of her book Mini Saga in South Africa. This is the day before Valentine’s Day. Consider that a book could make the perfect Valentine’s gift! Hilary will be at Books and Company in Quesnel on Friday 16th February from 11am-1pm then later at the Wells Hotel at 8pm. She looks forward to seeing you there.
ACTIVITIES FOR FEBRUARY
February looks like a busy month. I have started recording a podcast and I am hoping that the 1st episode should be ready to go to air by the end of the month. I have readings booked in Quesnel and Wells on Friday February 16th, prior to the Wells Gourmet Ski event. I also have readings booked in Fraser Lake and Vanderhoof on February 20th in their relevant libraries. Indigo is arranging for Mini Saga in South Africa to be available in their Coles, Chapters and Indigo stores in Vancouver, Kelowna, Kamloops and Prince George, which makes me happy.
The warm temperatures, rain and lack of snow have prevented my normal ski and shovelling activities but it has offered time to concentrate on getting my book into more hands, for which I am thankful. Best wishes to everyone for a Happy Valentine’s. Books make wonderful gifts! http://www.hilarycrowleyauthor.ca
Northern BC Narratives
This week I was featured on Northern BC Narratives. A conversation about my life leading to a description of the stories covered in my book, Mini Saga in South Africa. The conversation started with my childhood leading to life in a girls’ boarding school prior to pursuing a career in physiotherapy. The stories spread to building our own log house in Summit Lake and growing most of our own food in our large vegetable garden. I was able to describe our travels in South Africa and how the experiences influenced the rest of my life. We also talked about our work in India and volunteering in Tibet and Bhutan. The interview was televised on Telus Optik TV and is available on youtube at this link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qcGdOXyc0E My books are available at Books and Company as well as Kobo, Amazon, Apple and many other sites. The links for purchase are on my website at http://www.hilarycrowleyauthor.ca I should love to get some more reviews for my book on Amazon and any other sites people might purchase from. Thank you for your support!
StoryHive
Book launches for Mini Saga in South Africa are pretty well finished now, including one in England. Now I will embark on mini book tours and trying my hand at podcasts. Next week I am being interviewed by StoryHive, which will be filmed and hopefully widely available. I will mostly be talking about my South Africa travels but also will include our work in India, with Samuha, and adventures in the Himalaya. I am planning on doing weekly podcasts reading from my book, Mini Saga in South Africa, with discussion time following. Once its set up, I’ll let everyone know. Hopefully this will be initiated this month. All my books are available through Books & Co in Prince George. Mini Saga in South Africa is also on Amazon and is distributed widely by Ingram to local book-stores.
PG Winterfest
I will have my books at PG Winterfest this week-end at the Prince George Civic Centre on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-4pm. There will be lots of crafters there too, so well worth a visit. A good chance for some unique Christmas shopping! Hope to see you there.
Virtual Book Launch feedback
The Virtual Book Launch with Meaghan Hackinen, author of Shifting Gears, was very well received and fun to do. We had over 40 people online with lots of good discussion. Some of the feedback included a desire to hear weekly readings! Since then I have looked into making a podcast and hopefully in January I will be able to start recording weekly episodes of my book, Mini Saga in South Africa. I should love to hear you thoughts on this idea! You can support this venture by purchasing books from: https://booksandcompany.ca/item/94FosUMwOoB8h2bptkK7yA
Virtual Book Launch

I’m really excited to celebrate my virtual book launch and reading on Tuesday December 5th at 6pm. I hope you can make it! Click this link to reserve your free ticket. https://shorturl.at/csyBC I’ll be reading with Meaghan Hackinen, ultimate endurance cyclist and award finalist writer. Hope to see you there!
Mini Saga in South Africa
I am now in England for a couple of weeks, where my sister has put on another Book Launch for me. Sales are going well and I’ve had lots of positive feedback. England has been having a lot of rain and the roses and dahlias are still blooming. I am looking out the window and watching blue-tits flit about the feeders. A grey heron just flew by and ducks and moorhens are strutting about the lawn.
When I get back to Canada on November 21st, I have a reading booked at St Giles Church in Prince George on December 3rd and an online reading booked for December 5th. After that, there will be a respite until December 16th, 17th when I will have a table at the Civic Centre in Prince George for Winterfest 2023. Mini Saga in South Africa is available through Books and Company in Prince George as well as your local bookstores, Amazon and many other online sites.
